Avoiding foreclosure is a rather complex issue depending on the level of financial crisis you're experimenting. Unless you're receiving advice from a foreclosure attorney with many years in practice, be selective about the foreclosure tips you get.

Because there's a great deal of people who are in foreclosure in Florida, I come across many cases where desperate homeowners almost compounded their problems by listening to wrong advice.

Before you put too much faith in what you're hearing, you'd be wise to ask whether the person giving advice on avoiding foreclosure is speaking from experience.

It would be better if this person has gone through the experience. At least, he or she would have a clue about the stress you're going through. In the absence of personal experience, any tips on avoiding foreclosure should be from people who have dealt with such situations for a number of years.

Here's something you hardly come across in the millions of pages of foreclosure tips on the internet. You should have a foreclosure attorney. Pure and simple.

Good foreclosure attorneys who are worth anything will protect your rights. Rights you probably don't know you have. They can buy you the time you need to either get your affairs in order to sell your house, bring your mortgage current, negotiate with your lender etc.

If you're facing foreclosure in Florida, there will be no shortage of tips from those whose true intentions are to profit from your troubles. However, real help with fl foreclosure is hard to find.

You'll be surprised to know that the majority of attorneys don't take foreclosure cases. Several years ago, I remember talking to a real estate attorney about helping one of my clients. Without knowing anything about the case, he flatly told me that my client deserves to be foreclosed on.

So much for justice. This guy didn't know anything about my client who happened to got himself in a temporary financial jam. The attorney wouldn't take the case. I suspect many attorneys feel the same way about people in foreclosure.

If you sense trouble coming your way to the point of going into foreclosure, make sure you have a good foreclosure attorney on your side. After all, your bank has many foreclosure attorneys. Why shouldn't you have one?
